Partners in Parenting Program

Monash University is conducting a randomised controlled trial of the Partners in Parenting (PiP) program for parents of adolescents with symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. VicREN is collaborating with the study team to identify general practices interested in facilitating parents’ access to this opportunity.

About Partners in Parenting

PiP is an evidence-based online program designed to help parents and carers build skills and confidence in supporting their teenager’s mental health and wellbeing. More than 3000 families across Australia have already done and benefitted from the PiP program. You can access information about the program here. Parents participating in the trial will receive personalised feedback on how they can best support their teen’s mental health, and access evidence-based strategies to respond to their teenager’s anxiety and/or depression as part of a tailored program

Practice involvement includes an honorarium to support:

  • Allowing VicREN team members to identify eligible families through file audits
  • GP review of potential participant lists
  • Sharing trial information with families

VicREN manages patient privacy through:

  • Privacy Collection Notice reviews
  • Staff secondment under your practice’s privacy frameworks
  • Ensuring patient information is only shared with researchers after explicit consent via Expression of Interest forms
